There's more to Ironbridge than water and iron

Dig cameras just dont have the contrast range im used to - but this is a Winter's view on a sunny afternoon of Ironbridge square.

This is looking from Broseley side of the bridge toward the Tontine hotel (built for tourism when they made the bridge and realised loads of people would come.. its still doing the job). There's a selection of tourist shops - but wow a good old Chippie. It's in the old cafe in the Square - must have a walk down and sample .. soon.

Ironbridge floods on the way down.

Obligatory photo of the Bridge - tourists come from all over the world to see this - iron technology held together with woodworking joints. There is a mirror bridge of concrete underneath it or the banks would have push together and snapped it by now. So - jumping off is no long recommended as mad loonies did when I was young and I do know one who reputedly did for a tenner. Floods today bringing down plenty of debris - some tree from somewhere waits till the flow moves it on past.

Sunday walks - lets play with the new cam

Went for a walk Sunday 21st - have a look at the river Severn still so high - all along the Wharfage and back through the back alleys - the river is still muddy brown- probably a few fields worth of mud going past.. Posted by Picasa
